Black Thorn

That Malaysian durian variety is sooo sweet! It's low fibrous and usually with subtle bitterness and wine-like aroma. The Black Thorn's flesh is actually quite dark colored - it's color is vibrant orange yellow flesh, and it even has carotene! Black Thorn is high on sugar and fat, and low on fiber, and the texture is thick custardy dense but not heavy, and it feels lighter to the stomach comparing it to other varieties. Black Thorn has less orchard fields than Musang king, and its primery season is shorter; only from late July through August. A smaller second crop may appear around December to January, but this depends on local conditions and is not guaranteed. Regarding these factors and the luxurious reputation of the Black Thorn - and you know its usual price in malaysia will be higher even than the Musang King. However, make no mistakes - Black Thorn is highly recommended to try out for every durian lover! In terms of unique visual characteristics, Black Thorn is known for its short, broad stem, and the fruit is in a round, oval shape. The spikes are big and wide, and the bottom of its base is convex with a bumpy black blossom end at the center, and that's why it's called the Black Thorn!
